NT scripture, in your opinion? Your interpretation of the NT doctrine is of course a factor, so please be specific (meaning not all of the message was positive).

  1. None Footy, perhaps you should ask those who believe in the text.

    We thank God for his mercy and grace.

  2. 0%

  3. Actually, christians will say none because they are all sinners.  The reason is that is their excuse for not following the tenets of their own belief system.

  4. why would you ask atheist this considering they do not believe in God nor do they know what the Holy spirit teaches those who love him?

    God says

    1Co 1:18  For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

  5. 74.98363956721430698478264872058952755 percent give or take

  6. I try not to worry about it.  I don't care how well or poorly they are following their scripture so long as they do it on their own time and leave me out of it.  I have no interest in grading their proficiency in doing something I don't believe in.

  7. Our Christians in Europe tend to be quiet, thoughtful, peaceful and relatively kind. The same goes for those in Asia. So I would guess somewhere about 80% of them live up to what I expect Christian values to be.

    American Christians seem to be rather angry all of the time and my impression is that maybe only a very small percentage of them live up to what I believe, as an atheist, to be Christian values, so about 5% maybe. But I only have Newspapers, TV and this forum on which to base my opinion.

    Religion is all about politics and population control anyway so who knows what Christian values are supposed to be in different nations. It is only a name after all and you can attach any philosophy you like to any name that you choose.

  8. None.  The entire Christian doctrine is based on forgiveness of sins, not avoidance of sin.  Therefore, any sin can and will be forgiven providing the sinner follows the rules of that individual's church.  For Catholics, it's confession (for example).

  9. You ask this question like every Atheist knows every Christian in the world.

  10. None of us. We are saved by grace of God

  11. hmm.. dont know... not many it seems, they cherry pick what they want to believe in. They inerpret parts of the bible that suits their own beliefs..

    it really is quite sad.

    Jesus was a liberal.

  12. Maybe Like 0.3 %.  Most People Don't Appear to Really Care.

  13. That is not for me to say.  If I judge them to determine who is a "true" Christian, that makes me no better than they are.

  14. Why are you asking the ignorant Atheists this question?

  15. Romans 3

    9What shall we conclude then? Are we any better[b]? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin. 10As it is written:

       "There is no one righteous, not even one;

        11there is no one who understands,

          no one who seeks God.

    12All have turned away,

          they have together become worthless;

       there is no one who does good,

          not even one."[c]

    21But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

  16. No, it was not all positive.  It was rather sexist.  For example, the NT said it was shameful for women to speak in church.

    I think the Amish community follows the laws of the NT.  The rest do not.

  17. I was raised in the church of christ. I was freed from this when I met my husband. I have never known one to live up to even their own ideals of "christianity".  I was raped by the son of the preacher at my father's church and beaten by my father for trying to come forward about it.  I have been disowned by half my family. And they all claim to be "christian".  The preacher of that church was later found to be having an afair with a secretary.  My father donated the required percentage of his income to his church and sleeps in the back while he is supposed to be running the PA system. My step-mother refuses to admit that my dad is having an affair even tho all us kids can see it.

  18. Being agnostic and perpetually gravitating towards atheism, I think I can answer your question. I say 27%. Small compared to the number of proclaimed Christians in this country.

  19. The person who seems to best emulate and exemplify the moral teachings of Jesus is the Dalai Lama.

    Kinda makes me wonder how people can believe in a rapture, when the only real Christian out there is a Buddhist.
