Alright then, I am making an Atheist Wiki... Are there any things that should be included? Any other helpful hints?

@Religious individuals: Is there anything that captures your attention when you surf the web regarding theist and atheist debates? (mainly wikispaces)

  1. The fact that atheists NEVER try to expalin their reasoning.

  2. * Correcting common misconceptions about atheists. (They don't have morals, etc...)

    * Arguments which support atheism.

    * Theist arguments refuted.

    * Definitions of the different kinds of atheism.

  3. We already have one.

  4. Well, I'm not an atheist, but you realize that atheism is not a religion, right?  As defined by Richard Dawkins (author of The God Delusion), atheism is not a religion, but simply the philosophical stance of being non-religious and non-believing in the supernatural (or something along those lines).  You could look up the exact deffinition on the Internet or find that quote from Dawkins's book, which you could probably also find online, and include that in your wiki.

    Also, be sure to only mention facts that are relevant to ALL atheists - and not just yourself.  Good luck.

  5. You should check out some sites on philosophy of religion and be sure to include that information. Obviously you will want to cover the rational arguments for and against God's existence. You should also cover related topics, like the question of whether religion is necessary for ethics (Socrates' Euthyphro dilemma would be essential here).

    You may have to get in to some philosophy of science too, since the whole evolution vs. creation argument is important.

  6. one thing that captivates me is the ability of an individual to understand that a person to understand that God is not a building made of concrete, wood and stone.....but is all of creation..... nature and that God can be talked to directly without the benefit of a minister that thinks he has the home phone of Jesus in his back pocket. We are a direct line to God IF WE WANT!

  7. I'm agnostic but, you should probably include the basics of being atheist. For example, what you believe and WHY you believe [or don't believe in this case]. You could also include some interesting theories, like the one I heard about atheists turning into trees once they die.

  8. A section on why Intelligent Design is bull h****y, please.

  9. Organized atheism makes about as much sense as a vegan Burger King. The whole point of being an atheist is not having to pertain to any denominational group or sect. Organized atheism is making a religion out of non-religion.
