  1. The connection between Jesus and Mithra is well known to many atheists. Basically nothing in Christianity is original - it was copied from other religions.

  2. What traditions the Christians didn't get from Mithraism they stole from Heathenry.

For example the Christmas tree and Father Christmas/St Nicholas. Also Easter is named after a Saxon Goddess Eostre who had a festival in spring.

  3. Interesting, but you'll never get The Christians to believe it.

  4. I've heard something about that. If Jesus ever did exist, and I think that's inherently unknowable, they probably filled in the blanks with other religious ideas. Most religions spawn off from other religions, but with little variations here and there.

  5. Everyone who's studied the issue knows that the Christian-style post-death experience comes from Zoroastrianism.

  6. Not much.

  7. Boring

  8. I'm Agnostic I liked about half of the article.

  9. Yeah; it's old stuff.

  10. It seems that there are some possible connection or places where the two religions may have borrowed from each other.  Personally I had thought that the Church adopted Dec 25 and Easter later in history rather than from the first to third centuries when they would have borrowed most heavily from Mithras.

  12. Soon as I saw mithra, I lost interest.

  13. Nothing
