Atheists. Why don't you thank Christians who pray for your souls?

They pray for your souls to save you and you're always mean back. They don't 'have' to pray for you so show some manners before things get too 'hot' for you to handle!

  1. I'd rather m********e with a hand full of broken glass.

  2. Threats of h**l will do nothing to draw others toward you.

  3. Praying for souls damages them. Wear and tear, buddy.

Why don't you thank Scientologists for cleansing your thetans?

  4. The same reason Christians don't thank science teachers for teaching evolution in schools.

We didn't ask you to, we don't think it's necessary, and we don't appreciate the implicit judgment that we're bad people because we don't believe that Yeshua bar Yeosef was the son of your preferred invisible man in the sky.

  5. Why can you not see that you are intolerant and persecute people?!!

That Christianity is the only religion so bent on abusing our human rights!!

Do you not recognize that Christians are provoking retaliation and repudiation for their terrible attitudes?!!

Perhaps if Christians stopped their intolerant, egotistical, hate filled and bigoted postings things might change!!

Perhaps if Christians stopped eschewing education, science, evolution works of fiction and much, much more things might change!!

Perhaps if Christians stopped being the only religion opposing human rights and persecuting g**s, pro choice and so much more things might change!!

Perhaps if Christians stopped demanding freedom of religion whilst they deny it to all non Christians and persecute them things might change!! !!!

  6. Do they ever thank me for explaining their misinterpretations of 6th grade science class?

Getting told I'm being prayed for to "save the soul" gets annoying. For health, happiness, etc. prayers, I'd just take it as them saying how I'd tell someone I hope they do well and thank them.

  7. First off, I'm not mean.  Second why should I thank someone for doing something I personally find inane?

  8. For the same reason vegetarians don't thank you when you give them meat.

  9. The same reason you don't thank the Eskimos for bringing the Sun back from Winter Solstice.

  10. Are you kidding?  Here, answer my question.  Why don't Christians thank Atheists for not believing in God for them?  I mean we don't have to not believe in God for you.  We're just trying to help you before things get too "dirty" for you.

  11. I do thank the ones I know because they mean it in a kind way not a condescending way.

  12. Why would I thank them for talking to their imaginary friend on my behalf?

"Your intentions are noble, but your mind is still addled."

That's the best I could do.

  13. Sorry, but I can't hear the ones praying for me over the ones that are telling me I don't have morals and am going to h**l.

  14. There are studies that show that sick people for whom people pray actually do worse than people who are not prayed for.   People who knew they were being prayed for did much worse on recovery from illness.

  15. Yeah, fair call.  After all, it's not my time they're wasting.

  16. For one, they dont believe in god so its just a waste of time and annoying to them.

  17. They dont have to say thank you if they want to.tho it is a nice gesture for one to pray for a atheist but an atheist is'nt obliged to say thank you seeing how they are just that athiest.then praying for them does nothing

  18. You really mean that they don't have to pray for me?  That is great news!  Do they know this?  Please tell them.  Amazing, none of them on this forum know me so how can they pray for me?  Just the thought of someone making creepy pleas on my behalf to some sky hawk give me more creepy feelings.  So, it'sK, I can get my soles repaired or replaced at a local show repair shop, and I don't have to pray to the shoemaker.  It also cost much less than a visit to a church, and those people will not repair my soles, they don't know how.

  19. I don't applaud that kind of stupidity.

I wasn't thanked after shagging a neighbours catholic spouse.

No one deserves that kind of treatment from an ungrateful neighbour !

Atheism got me over the massive trauma and void that that left me in.

  20. cuz atheists dnt believe in god and dont believe in prayer so why the **** would they thank you?? that would contradict their belifes. christans are too f****n pushy with their beliefs

  21. why do people hate other peoples religion so much.? Respect here views and dont insult them. Praying for them is just another way to p**s them off

  22. Prayer is useless, and normally when they say they are praying for you they mean your on your way to h**l...

  23. I'll tell you what...

    Let's mediate this deal...

If you thank the Atheists for showing you what a little use of critical thinking skills can do, perhaps they will thank you for your contribution?

    Fair is fair, eh?

  24. Because my friend, it's the height of arrogance to presume we need saving. it presumes an inferiority in us, an incapability to attain the salvation you seem to think we need on our own terms- it stinks of the presumption of knowing God and undervaluing the validity of both the freedom and beauty of each of us having our own path in life on this earth.

It is forcing us into your nasty little game- it gives you a mechanism to take credit for all my accomplishments and to utilise my very personal failings (or worse, misinterpret my VIRTUES as failings!) as examples to each other, and most contemptibly of all your own children of the dangers of straying from your game- and it also provides you with a way of smugly ignoring your own failings and the inestimable damage they do you, your kin, and even me and mine.

let me show you another game- where the playing field is more even. It's called reason, and i bet i can beat you at it.

  25. I don't have a soul and neither do they.

They have the right to waste time praying.

  26. I have no debt of gratitude to anyone for wasting their time on my behalf when I neither asked or want them to.

They aren't praying for me, they are praying for themselves--if anything they should be thanking me.
