  1. Religion is bunk.

  2. I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but i will say this:

Falcon is CRAZY!!!!! There is no right or wrong???? What the heck. I hope this guy is kidding.

  3. Tonight I will win the lottery!

Is that positive enough for you?

  4. Are you asking for a mantra or a motto?

Atheism is not a organized group, and I am not an Atheist, but I will take a stab at it.

"I do not need the fear of a god nor his threats of eternal punishment to make me act morally."

"Whether there is a creator or not is irrelevant when there are people harming our children's science education."

Those were off the top of my head.

  5. Life is short but beautiful. I am free to live for myself and others and determine my own priorities (meaning there is no God to tell me what I should live for).

I have the love of my family and friends that make my one and only life worth while.

  6. What about?

I think you christians tend to forget that we don't have to prove anything to you.

It is not our burden,it's yours. ;)

  7. protons, posatrons, anything that attracts negatives

  8. My positive claim is that I have lost 5 lbs this week.

    Isn't that great? ;-)

  9. negative mumble jumble? you mean common logic? You cannot prove a negative genius.

I have many positive claims. You should be more specific

  10. there is no need for a claim .there is no right or wrong there is only reality..

  11. It wasn't "mumble jumble", it was a correct response to your poorly-formed question.

You've just repeated your mistake, kid. You're clearly way over your head here.

Here's what you should have done:

It's perfectly understandable that you didn't know what you were talking about the first time. However, instead of jumping in here as rudely as you did, you should have _asked_ about atheists' beliefs. Since you clearly know essentially nothing at all about religion, you should have known better than to jump into this forum making negative comments about other people.

You had your hat handed to you in response to that poorly formed question you asked. When that happened, you should have stood back and looked carefully at those responses, and then gone off to learn something about the topic. Instead you jumped right back in and compounded your error. Your ego is getting the best of you.

I strongly suggest that you back off, listen, and learn.

  12. I'm guessing you mean the argument that if everyone was atheist, no one would have any reason to be nice to anyone else.

Which is c**p. Society functions much better if everyone is nice to everyone else, and fairly open and accepting. And most atheists know this. It's almost ALWAYS religion and religious individuals that start wars, etc.

  13. Positive claim about what?

  14. Positive claim about what?  I make lots of them.

    My dog is fluffy.

Futurama is the best television show ever made.

    Most bananas are yellow.

There is a hurricane headed toward me right now.

    I'm not wearing pants.

These are all positive claims.  Were you looking for something in particular?

  15. Notice how condecending and just plain SNOTTY these people are.

Maybe people who beleive in God are dumb. But hey the reterted are 99 percent of the time really caring and genuine people. Really smart people tend to invent napalm that sicks 10% better to babies and Thermonuclear devices.

    And correct peoples spelling.

    What complete a Holes.

Live and let live kid. Dont bother

there not pissed because you beleive in God there pissed because there not God and there too arrogent to admit that they just dont know.

  16. Both are religions if you go by the dictionary.

a cause, principle, or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith.

So to me, an Atheist and a Christian is a follower of a religion. So why the debate?

  17. I'm a born again Christian and have no idea what a positive claim is. It doesn't sound biblical, frankly.

  18. I claim that life is good. Positively speaking, of course.

  19. "I asked a question and got that negative mumble jumble"

I'm not surprised if this is a sample of your questions.

You'll have to elaborate and or fine tune what you want and or expect in an answer.

Maybe you could use what your 'positive claim' is as an example of where you're traveling to, Huh?

    ~

  20. Positive claim of what? I need a bit more information here.

  21. What am I supposed to be claiming?

  22. Thanks for starting the block party!

I'm positive I couldn't gain anything by being an atheist.

<edit> Thumbs down me all you want, but it's true.

I honestly can't see how being an atheist would improve my life. Evolution? I already believe in that. Now I can get a job as an Evolutionist. lol! Big whoop. I believe in gravity too. So?

I've accomplished all the things I've wanted to do in life, like go to England, get married to a beautiful lady, have a wonderful kid, be an a movie (even if it was a z-grade horror movie) and I did all those things after I became a Christian. (Well, I was raised in it but left. I found out I never really knew Christianity). Oh, and I still haven't finished my 1st book, but I'm working on it. 4 out of 5 so far.

I can't see how becoming an atheist would benefit me...other than you R & S atheists might like it.

It'll take more than that. LOTS more.

  23. Positive claim: I am an atheist.

  24. I do not believe that god exists. That's the start and end of atheism. It is not a philosophy or a way of life and your request for something positive indicates that you don't quite understand the situation.

  25. Positive claim to or for what?

    Elaborate please.

  26. I make no positive claim.

I lack belief in gods because there is no evidence of gods.

  27. Life is great.

    EDIT:

For someone above me that thinks Christianity and atheism are both religions.

    Christian : Definition:

...believer in Jesus Christ as savior: somebody whose religion is Christianity

    Atheist : Definition:

...unbeliever in God or deities: somebody who does not believe in God or deities

    Religion : Definition:

...beliefs and worship: people's beliefs and opinions concerning the existence, nature, and worship of a deity or deities, and divine involvement in the universe and human life
