  1. I really don't know, but I assume it's just like falling into a dreamless sleep without waking up again with your brain activity fading completely.

  2. Lights out without the dreams.

  3. There are absolutely no grounds for believing in it.  We know that every aspect of one's persona obtains from the electrical and chemical activity of the body, all of which ceases at death.

  4. We tend to identify ourselves with the contents of consciousness: our thoughts, the things we remember, our opinions, etc. By thinking that what we are *essentially* composed of these things, we make an error in thinking by attributing ourselves to our thoughts. In other words, we confuse consciousness with life. We assume that the stuff in our conscious mind is who we really are.

When we find ourselves making the confusion, we begin to think of ourselves as being made of two things: a physical body and a nonphysical consciousness. Because we attribute our identity to the latter, we assume that the body is a temporal thing that breaks down, but this different thing--which is who we really are--should continue to exist.

However, life and consciousness are not the same thing. If they were, then it would follow that any time sombody is unconsciousness, such as in surgery or during a coma, that person would no longer be considered "alive."

So, consciousness is not life, but a feature of our lives. And when the body ceases, so does its many wonderful features.

  5. Atheists believe there is no god.

This being said, it is possible for an Atheist to believe in heave, Jesus, etc.

  6. You die...you cease to exist...you will decompose and you will become worm chow...there is no soul or spirit, when you die, you die.

  7. I don't have a theory per se, but as far as I can tell when you are dead you are dead.

  8. I believe that it would be oblivion. In other words, just like the time before we were born

  9. It is my opinion that 'we', our minds, our personalities, do not in any way survive our physical death. The only part of us that remains is our body, and that decays, or is cremated, or is dissected.

  10. my body is incapable of functioning and so i permanently shut down.

  11. There ain't one.  Perhaps this will help you out.  From Websters:

  12. You stand with the millions.  No one knows.  You can pretend to know if it makes you feel better - but, no one really knows.  The Egyptians loved to think that they would live after death - had all their worldly goods available - but not one has taken a thing on his journey.

  13. Think of it as what life was like before you were born.

  14. Just like a plant or non-human animal... when you die, you cease to exist.

  15. Just the same as last time this was asked,.....No life after death just the same as an ant you tread on. We rot in  the grave and return to the food chain.

Eventually our atoms will spread around the universe. Have a good trip!

  16. i dont know and dont care. nobody knows and if they tell you they do then they are lying. we will find out once we die. till then i tend to focus on more important things like dinner or how america is n**i germany

  17. nothingness, I cease to exist. completely.

  18. I stop existing.  there's nothing after this life.  At least that's my belief.

  19. I don't have a theory about life after death.

  20. Other then the fact all atheists disbelief in the existence of god(s), there can be no two same ideas from two atheists.

  21. My personal belief is nothing. You cease. That's it.

Though one doesn't have to be a theist to believe in reincarnation, or other planes of being, or whatever.

  22. All religion is based on peoples fear of death, and what happens next. The self proclaimed wizards of religion found that telling by people there was another existence, if they followed their rules and gave them money has made organized religion a total farce, and it's leaders very wealthy.

When you are dead, you are dead. Deal with it.

  23. Judgement upon us is continual. It is not imposed by God at any time. We impose it upon ourselves by those actions that are rooted in wrong thinking.

The challenge upon each of us is to elevate our thinking out of the morass of human thought that is wrong.

It's far nicer to come across sunlit fields of beauty and light than to regress back to the swamp.
