Athenian set to stand first in Summer Sprint Trophy Handicap
The Sir Mark Prescott Bt-trained bay filly, Athenian, is all set to capitalise well on the momentum produced by her last four excellent performance in an effort to claim the ace title of the Summer Sprint Trophy Handicap that will be held at Ripon racecourse
on Monday, July 9. The Class 3 contest over 6 furlongs is scheduled to start at 8:20 (GMT).
While chasing the prize cheque worth £6,931 on the soft track, the three-year-old young and enthusiastic runner will run against 9 worthy rivals.
Athenian possesses a glorious track record. She has won three of her total 7 starts so far. Since the beginning of 2012, the daughter of Acclamation out of Ziria has been at the peak of form.
On May 28, the fantastic filly marvellously finished first in the Betfair Supporting Grassroots Racing Handicap over 6 furlongs at Kempton despite being a non-favourite runner.
The Keatly Overseas Ltd-bred sprinter went on to win Elite Racing Club Fillies’ Handicap over 6 furlongs at Chepstow track on June 4----she was 8-13 favourite for that race. These two back-to-back triumphs boosted up the victor’s morale greatly.
