Athens metro?

Im going to Greece this summer,Is it true that the metro is interupted by work being done on some new stations.

It is unlikely that you will want to go to these places, these are some stations that are not in areas with any touristic interest. Don't worry, you'll have no problem.

I cannot answer this as it has been 2 yrs since we were in Athens,it is a great service,quick and easy to follow,enjoy.

There is scheduled construction that will sever the connection between the Airport terminal station and the city of Athens.

However, it was decided that works won't commence until after August (phew!).  Even when this happens, there will be alternative methods to get to/from the airport either via the commuter/suburban railroad or via bus.

I use it every day from Ethniki Amyna to Syntagma station.. I don't know if any kind of work will be done in August but right now it's working as scheduled..

I second cpinatsi.

Be sure and notice the Metro station interiors as you walk through.  Some have excellent displays of ancient artifacts that were uncovered in building the line and the stations.

Others have quality art work.

Enjoy the journey, not just the destination.
