Question:

Athletes and the Olympic village?

I've been searching for information on athletes and the olympic village and have not been able to find what I am looking for. Do athletes pay for room and board by themselves or with money from their sponsors or does the Olympics put them up? If they do pay, is it a flat fee or do they pay per night? Do athletes go home after they are finished competing or do they stay for closing ceremonies?

Any other information would be helpful about this topic.

Note: Please provide me links to Olympic sites that have this information or tell me what you know. Please don't make up an answer just to respond. I really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

  1. This is interesting. Yeah I know what you mean, but I'm not too sure how I would go about that..  Take a look at http://www.OneRush.com - Extreme Dating and http://www.FriendTab.com - Free Dating Sites

  2. Travel arrangements for the majority of delegations are usually taken care of by their own country's olympic committee and in most of the cases the government provides funding for such committees. However there are a few delegations like Costa Rica and Uruguay that were the last to get to Beijing 'cause they did not had enough money to travel. and had to get sponsors.

Once the athletes get to the host city, the Organizing committee takes care of all their living expenses, until they finish their participation. I believe they can stay after they have competed but it would be at their own cost. I know this because a friend of mine competed in the '84 and '88 olympics and this is the way it was done.

  3. Good question although one I think there are many answers for.

  4. The athletes are provided with complimentary basic accommodation, they can then stay afterwards until the end of the event. As you can imagine when the athletes are no longer competing they can let their har down a little, and i know in sydney 2000, condoms were free in the village.

  5. Athletes do not pay for rooms, and they can stay till the end the of games.I don't know any site but it was on television in my country.

    Hope I helped : )
