The young attacking sensation has struggled with injuries ever since securing a dream move to the San Mames from CD Lugo in the 2012 summer transfer window.
Ismael Lopez has been critical of Athletic Bilbao’s start of 2012/13 La Liga season. The youngster has a solitary league appearance against his name after earning a transfer to San Mames in the concluded summer transfer window, but believes he alongside
the club can get back to their expected level.
The 22-year-old attacker claimed that the club have given inconsistent performances in their initial La Liga outings, but played down its significance. He stated that the campaign has yet to start in full furore, revealing that they have enough quality in
their ranks to register an impressive run of form.
"The team is made to be up and be down brings bad feelings, but it is early and the team knows it can give higher level to be higher," Ismael Lopez said while addressing members of the media at a press conference.

Nevertheless, the former CD Lugo and Zaragoza B star claimed Bilbao’s standing on the points table does not give a complete picture of their performances. Ismael noted that Los Azulones are playing well and are just missing their effectiveness in front of
the goal.
"We are taking possession, the weight of the matches we took ourselves, but we just had that spark in the final meters, the important thing is getting there, being more successful is a matter of the parties."
Reflecting on the reasons for Athletic Bilbao’s ineffectiveness, Lopez claimed that their rivals are aware of their abilities and prepare negatively to counter their strengths.
"The opponents know us, know as parties propose and that is easier for them, for there can analyze many meetings and organize the party, but if we are in good shape we can counter that," the Lezama academy graduate remarked.
