  1. for the first 30m of the race stay low with a forward body lean have you arms pumping and get a good warm up

  2. 100m sprint tips ... I have broken it to phases for ease of understanding;

    0-15m= is the Pushing Phase (Think Push, Push, Push, Head Down, and Keep Low). Straight Line from head to ankle; Full Drive off first block for maximum distance (like bounding out of the blocks).

    15-35m= Drive up and out with full leg extension to maximize hip height off the track.

    35-60m= Stepping over opposite knee with strong step down to maintain good hip height above the track. Like cycling in mid air

    60-100m= Maintain speed and Dipp at the finish line.

    Always remember to do warm up and warm down, very important...

    Practice these phases champ and you should run atleast under 15seconds.

    My first 100m race I was 11yrs old and I ran about 18 seconds. Now I am 21yrs old and my personal best in the 100m is 10.76sec, 200m at 21.89 and 400m in under 48 seconds...

    All the best, u should be fine

  3. A VERY good warmup is essential. Run a 800m beforehand at a slow steady pace. Then remember that if you stay still for 5 minutes, you're warmup was useless. While in the race it's VERY VERY important to focus ahead and not be distracted. Remember to start with short quick paces and work up to long strong strides further down. hope this helps.

  4. I think when you sprint, run on your toes. It decrease the amount of time your foot is planted on the ground so you have more time to get in more steps.
