  1. Let them try various activities.  It doesn't matter what, just keep them busy.  Just don't fall into the trap of having them specialize too early.

  3. Well, running probably will have less injuries but you need to choose the sport you like most.

  4. It's up to the kid!! Let him choose and try different sports. I think that in middle school(junior high) and high school you can play in both sports. In fact I recommend both track and football. They work hand in hand. In football's offseason you can do track and either run short sprints or run for endurance. All of the football practices will get you use to the heat and working out. If you want to be good in either sport I would do both of them. I chose only football and I'm hating myself for not doing both because now I'm not very fast and being a tightend i need to e able to run!
