Ati2dvag.dll

Question

Hi i have a acer aspire 5024 i have had problems with it just shutting down on its own at first there were no errors or details of why i even checked event id in the end i reinstalled using the acer disks supplied (xp home) all went fine until the drivers were loaded on it lasted for about half an hour then crashed this time with blue screen and message about ati2dvag.dll so i checked the drivers for the graph card and went to ati website to see if i could download the latest driver i couldnt because ati said that i had to use manufactorers drivers that come with machine so i have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled the drivers and still after about 30 mins it crashes now if i uninstall the drivers and use vga graphics its ok apart from its all in wide screen and smooth scrolling don't work is there anyway of replacing the graph card or getting a different driver for it other than manufactorers please help i have to get my coursework done soon and im at a loss of what to do
