Atlanta Braves blanked 0-5 by Milwaukee Brewers as Tim Hudson leaks runs - MLB Update

Starter Tim Hudson leaks four runs as the Atlanta Braves are blanked by the Milwaukee Brewers 0-5 in the second match of the three game series at Miller Park, Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 11, 2012.
Braves’ power diminished against the quality pitches they came across in the match. Striking just five hits, they did not score any run on Tuesday. Their offence which is famous for knocking down even the best of the pitchers struggled immensely in the game.
Just like the Braves, Brewers did not start well. Except for the one run that they managed in the first inning, they finished most of the innings scoreless. Before the beginning of the seventh, their lead was prone to be dismantled.
With a couple of runs on the score-board, Braves will have easily gone past them.
The complete failure of Atlanta’s offence provided the Brewers an ideal opportunity to find an easy victory.
Building on their lead, Brewers posted three runs in the seventh. Afterward they added one more run in the eighth before experiencing victory by keeping the Braves scoreless in the last inning.
Hudson was far from his best on Tuesday. In little more than six innings, he yielded seven hits and struck-out four.
Out of the few hits struck by Atlanta, two came off the bat of their shortstop Andrelton Simmons. Their third baseman Chipper Jones also managed one hit in the match.
Braves’ manager Fredi Gonzalez feels their batters are not swinging right at the moment. Despite the fact batters attempted big hits, they were unable to score runs.
"We swung the bats hard, but couldn't get it off the wall or in front of the wall to get some runs," he said. "We're not feeling too good right now with the way we're swinging the bats."
It has been a norm since the return of Hudson on rotation that the Braves provided him sufficient run support whenever he started. However on Tuesday it was not the case. He completed a couple of innings scoreless in the beginning before he was sent for
big hits late in the match. In the meantime Atlanta’s offence remained quiet.
"I thought I pitched better than giving up all those runs late," Hudson said. "Four runs seemed like a dozen the way their guys were throwing. It was just one of those games."
The Braves will be trying to win the last game of the series in order to bring some momentum back on their side.
