Atlanta Braves could sign right fielder Justin Upton – MLB Update
Sources are speculating in the media that the Arizona Diamondbacks could trade Justin Upton to Atlanta Braves. Though this news is not confirmed yet but still many believe that this exactly is going to happen in the next couple of weeks.
“Wow these (at)JUS10UP10 rumors have me excited. Please don't tease me like this... Would be a dream come true if it happens," B.J. said on his Twitter account Wednesday.
Arizona owner Ken Kendrick also said lately, “I think Justin is an enigma at this point, I know he had an injury early on and maybe a little bit of a nagging injury. But he's played. He's certainly not the Justin Upton that he has been in the past and that
we would expect of him. He's 24 years old and it's time for him to be a consistent performer, and right now this year he's not been that."
Upton is a fine player and knows his game well. His trade will somewhat benefit the Diamondbacks. They can get a pitcher in exchange or can add a potential designated hitter as well.
Upton last season showed good performance and finished with great numbers of .280 hitting average along with 17 home runs, 67 RBIs and .355 OBP. He also possesses career good numbers of .278 hitting average along with 108 home runs, 363 RBIs and .357 OBP.
Some experts within the Braves’ franchise also think that if the Atlanta management does able to land Upton in the team; their side certainly will achieve consistent results.
Currently the Braves have some fine players including Juan Francisco along with Freddie Freeman and Paul Janish, who are also known as quite offensive ones.
Francisco achieved good numbers in the last Major League Baseball season as he finished with .234 hitting average along with nine home runs, 32 RBIs and .278 OBP. Francisco has also good career numbers of .258 along with 14 home runs, 61 RBIs and .303 OBP.
Freeman on the other hand was also exceptional in the last Major League outing as he did a wonderful job hitting at .259 along with 23 home runs, 94 RBIs and .340 OBP.
