Atlanta Braves defeat Milwaukee Brewers 2-1 – MLB Update
The Atlanta Braves put in a good performance as they defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 2-1 at Miller Park, Milwaukee on Monday, April 4.
The game started with Chris Narveson pitching for Milwaukee, as no runs were made with Brandon Beachy pitching for Atlanta. The second inning was uneventful until Beachy came for pitching in the third inning as Rickie Weeks homered to centre scoring his
and the team’s first runs. Then the following innings only added to frustration until the eighth inning when Martin Prado and Dan Uggla set things right.
Be that as it may, while for a neutral spectator it was gradually becoming boring, for those who were out there for their respective team’s win, it was becoming frustrating as inning after inning, hits and runs were something rare to see.
The Braves’ offence was lagging until the eighth inning when Uggla came forward with what turned out to be an anxiously awaited breather to the team and the fans. Takashi Saito’s presence, a trusted relief pitcher of the Milwaukee Brewers, had to go through
a tough ordeal as Uggla forcefully went for a game-winning hit. This came at a crucial moment not only for the Braves, but the player himself. In all probability, it was his first quality inning in the particular conditions encompassing the match.
The Brewers that have remained winless this season were in the game so long as the Braves’ stars seemed to be experiencing excessive movements, signifying bad luck. Thanks to Saito, Uggla hit two runs for the win. The Brewers are without a win in the series
after losing their initial three innings.
Weeks homered to centre, going for an astounding 420 feet, to score one run, breathing some life into the game and energising the team itself to make a promising start. It had to go a long way to keep the Braves in check, but Atlanta stormed back into the
game in the ninth inning.
Prado and Uggla lead was such a major element of the game that the whole match swung back into action. Prado, who had five hits in his past nine innings, tried as best as he could to hit hard. It eventually paid off. However, Uggla was the man that did it
all. The target was Saito. "He's pretty much had my number for the last few years ever since we've been facing each other," Uggla said.”He threw me some breaking balls and one hung up long enough for me to get the barrel on it and it just so happened that
it carried out of the ballpark."
The Brewers had set their eyes on a victory, but they failed – once again. They have yet to earn a victory. The Braves, on the other end, are now heading to another encounter with the Brewers which hopefully will spice up both the bored spectators and anxious
fans.
