Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman out of line-up – MLB News
The Atlanta Braves’ talented first baseman Freddie Freeman will not be part of the line-up in team’s ongoing three game regular series against the New York Mets after he was unable to perform up-to the expectations and went 2 for 21 with 10 strikeouts in
last five outings.
Eric Hinske will be replacing him while Freeman later spoke well for his replacement saying,
“The way he’s swinging he should be in there, It’s hard to count on someone in the eighth and ninth inning if they haven’t played. ‘Ski somehow seems to do it. Every time he’s up there he’s hitting a guy in. I’ve just got to keep working hard and build off
of what happened yesterday.”
Freeman was not feeling good from start of the Opening Day April 5th, but hitting coach and Braves’ manager were determined as he will definitely make a comeback.
Going into the new Major League Baseball season, the Braves were also not impressive and lost first four games against the New York Mets leaving entire management thinking on what went wrong so sudden as they lost to the team who did not even qualify into
the post season last year.
However, the Braves bounced back and won five next outings against the Houston Astros and Milwaukee Brewers.
Since the Braves have made a tremendous comeback, the top order of their roster is feeling kind of slight weariness and same is the case with first baseman Freeman.
Some close teammates say that he needs little time to adjust in the new season. Only two year veteran in the biggest baseball league in the world, Freeman has still to gain the right level of experience to play top game for his team.
The Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez has also said for Freeman, “It’s two-fold, Getting Hinske in there – he’s the last guy to get a start of the bench guys. So get him in there. We’re beginning 13 [games] in a row, so get him in there, get him a start, and
give Freeman a little breather.”
Experts believe if the Braves’ management think that Freeman should rest for a while than this is a right move and help their franchise in the upcoming action as well.
