Atlanta Braves general manager Frank Wren to take rotation decisions – MLB Update
Atlanta Braves’ general manager Frank Wren knows that how critical is to rebuild the roster which showed their true class despite having less defensive strengths in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Though the Braves lost the single playoff game against the St. Louis Cardinals recently, but still their performance was far better than other National League teams who performed at the last stages of the regular season.
Since the Braves have lost the playoff game, GM Wren is stream lining his agenda to prepare his roster for the next Major League Baseball seasons.
Braves finished second in the National League East behind Washington National with 94-68 win loss record with .580 winning percentage in the regular season.
Chipper Jones, who has recently retired, said for the Braves’ management, “I think the Braves need some pieces, but I think Frank will have fun playing with all the money.”
Jones added and further explained why Frank need to use team resources well in the future, “I think they need some pieces, But Frank will have a good time with all the money he’s going to have this offseason try to get those pieces.”
Later manager Fredi Gonzalez also explained and told reporters that what are the right options of Braves top management regarding different roster decision, “Anytime you get this close, you want to take advantage of it because you don’t know what’s going
to happen next year, Chipper’s not going to be here. You don’t know if you’re going to be healthy next year. We may not have had the sexiest team out there, but we were good.”
On the other hand, experts believe that Wren has a very good chance to bring young and talented players in the team.
With Chipper Jones’s retirement alone, the Braves will be saving $13 million while these $13 million, Wren can shop two to three potential hard hitters in the offseason.
Experts also believe that this coming offseason will bring many good changes in the Braves franchise. It is also expected that Braves will bring potential change in their upfront offensive strategy which will determine their chances to play well in the seasons
ahead.
