Atlanta Braves hoping Edward Salcedo will get his momentum soon – MLB Update
Atlanta Braves prospect Edward Salcedo is trying his best to adjust in the new environment. He is from the Dominican Republic with a good hitting prowess.
As a player with a new leading Major League franchise, Salcedo is showing his best game in the Minor League. With a career .240 hitting average along with .694 on-base-plus-slugging percentage, 32 homers, 156 RBIs and 124 errors in total 339 games, Salcedo is making noise with his recent Minor League stint.
Many in Atlanta’s club house are happy the way things unfolded for Salcedo.
“It may take him a little longer,” a Braves’ official said for Salcedo and told the media.
Later Salcedo said one morning last week in the Phoenix clubhouse with detail, “I feel great, It’s a good experience. I’ve been working hard with the staff here. We talk about hitting. I’ve been making just a little adjustment.”
Aaron Holbert, the team manager of both the AFL Desert Dogs and the Braves’ Double-A Mississippi affiliate, where Braves young prodigy will play in 2013, said for him, “You know he’ll have power, He hasn’t hit for power here [in Arizona] at all, but you see the raw power in batting practice. I know he had a fairly good year this past season in Lynchburg. It’s just a matter of making sure he gets himself into good hitting position.”
Bruce Manno, Braves assistant general manager and director of player development is also happy for Dominican Republic native.
During his time in the Dominican Republic, it had been reported several times that many Major League teams wanted him to play for them.
However, the Braves' scouts were diligent enough to make him agree come play for one of the leading teams in the Major League.
On the other hand and according to some experts, Salcedo is a good player and as long as he reaches some exact level of experience for the Majors, the Braves will call him to show his talent in the biggest baseball league in the world.
