Atlanta Braves rout Arizona Diamondbacks 8-1 – MLB Recap
The Atlanta Braves defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks with a big margin of 8-1 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Tuesday, June 26 at Turner Field in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Braves snapped the Diamondbacks’ four-game winning streak with style. They never let the Diamondbacks control the game and instead kept them under pressure as they took the game away in the end.
Not only the pitching but the Braves’ batting prowess also exposed their opponents’ weaknesses.
Tim Hudson tossed eight tremendous innings as he helped the Braves to win the game. He received only one run on seven hits and one earned run while maintaining his 3.58 ERA.
"They've caught me on nights I felt pretty good, It was nice to be able to go out there and take advantage of some opportunities, If you give any pitcher a four-run lead, if you can't make that hold up, you're not doing your job." Hudson said with confidence on his outing which was brilliant and gave the Braves a welcome win in the series.
Later Atlanta’s manager Fredi Gonzalez said on his team’s pitching offence which proved one of the winning factors for them, "It all starts for me with the guy on the mound, He gave us a solid performance. Hopefully tomorrow Tommy (Hanson) follows up with that and we keep rolling with quality starts. That to me is the only thing that has been missing, challenge our pitchers to give us six or seven innings each time"
Starter Daniel Hudson, relief pitcher Jonathan Albaladejo and closer Craig Breslow played poorly for the Diamondbacks. They all pitched way-ward and could just show their natural abilities leaving their team to face the Braves powerful hammering.
Hudson finished his 1.2 innings spell receiving seven hits along with five runs, five earned runs and one homer. He was only able to strike-out three batters as his ERA rose to 7.35.
Albaladejo was hit with two runs and two earned runs while his ERA rose to 9.00.
Breslow also played poorly and gave one run on three hits as he also allowed one earned run while his ERA increased to 3.00.
