Atlanta Braves’ starting pitcher Tim Hudson hopes to return soon – MLB News
The Atlanta Braves’ starting pitcher Tim Hudson is hoping to return for the next Major League Baseball season after spending some two to three weeks in pain undergoing back surgery. He recently has reported to Spring Training and is looking for a good beginning.
“I definitely feel like I'm getting around a lot better," Hudson said. "I felt like Fred Sanford for two or three years walking around the locker room. From a strength standpoint, I'm where, but I usually get that back pretty quick."
He added, "Me getting back for the start of the season was never really a possibility, just from a standpoint, the kind of surgery I had is a three-to-sixth-month. Five months puts me at May 1. Now that I have had it and I feel really good about it, I feel like I can play a really long time."
Spring Training is yet to start officially in three days’ time but already teams have gathered and are training at every important aspect of the game. Hudson on the other hand, knows he needs to train once again in order to stay ahead of other team-mates. The Training camp starting rotation is also not determined yet by the Braves' management but some experts believe that Hudson will be a key player for the Braves.
Last season, Hudson played well and performed tremendously, achieving consistent ERA of 3.22. His other stats also remained consistent but the most important fact of his game was his consistent ball play.
As soon as the next regular season starts, Hudson will be ready to outdo every opponent. Training camps are good for him as he is making a potential comeback after three weeks but on the whole it is a good thing for him to spend some time in work-outs before playing in a Major League game.
However, at this moment only time will tell as to how well Hudson’s game is. According to some sources the Braves are also looking optimistic to have Hudson back in the roster.
