Atlanta Dream vs. Minnesota Lynx Preview – WNBA Finals Preview
It is time for the final countdown. The two most outstanding teams of the league, one from west, other from east, Minnesota Lynx and Atlanta Dream will be fighting for the throne. It is too early to predict who is going to win
but one thing is for sure, both teams will give everything they have to come on top in this intense battle.
Minnesota Lynx, the team with best record this season have waited thirteen long years to get themselves a place in WNBA finals and with the current core they have, it looks they will go on to win the championship. However, on the
other side, Atlanta Dream who have impressively made their way to their second finals in four years will be making sure; they spoil the party for Lynx.
Atlanta were excellent last season. They did all the things right beating every team that got in their way but only failed to overcome Seattle in the finals despite fighting hard. However, here they are again, with chance of achieving
what they could not last season.
In their way, stand the mighty Minnesota Lynx who finished the regular season with a tremendous 27-7 record. Minnesota just proved too strong for the other teams and easily made their way into finals by clean sweeping Phoenix Mercury
in the Western Conference Finals.
"They were the team to beat the whole season," Atlanta's Iziane Castro Marques said of the Lynx. "We have to do our best. In addition, if it is not enough, then OK, they will deserve to win. But we're going to give our all and
try to stop some of the best players in the league."
Both teams are loaded with super stars. They are blessed with players who can win the matches solely on their own. When it comes to class and versatility, there is a little to compare between both teams. If Lynx have Seimone Augustus
and Rookie of the year, Maya Moore, then Atlanta have Angel McCoughtry and one of the finest point guards in WNBA Lindsay Harding.
Lynx will be hosting the game 1 of the finals at the target and using home advantage, they will be looking to outclass their opponents who made their way by beating Indiana Fever in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Castro Marques will be the player to watch out for Atlanta. She started the season quietly, but when it mattered the most, she performed and played probably the best games of her life against Indiana Fever to get her team a place
in the finals.
Rookie of the year Maya Moore from Lynx, who has been outstanding throughout the season, is the player Lynx would be relying on along with Seimone Augustus. Maya Moore has already made an impression and she would simply love to
finish it on a much higher note by helping her team winning the championship.
