I am currently having to change locations for my job and I wanted to know iof anyone can give me a little clue on what I should expect as far as traffic goes??

I will be driving from Kennesaw (exit 271 Chastain Rd) down to 17th street in Atlanta (near Ansley Park and Atlantic Station) at 7-7:30am. I am just trying to figure out how long it will take me with traffic and all and what to expect. Anyone that can help will make my night!

Oh, and I will be going from 17th street (sorry, I dont know the exit #) back to Kennesaw, so if you have that info as well it would be very helpful.

THanks so much!

  1. You're looking at about 22 miles, I think.

In early AM Atlanta traffic, that'll take anywhere from 40 minutes to 1 hour.  (More if there's a wreck that they just don't ever seem to move.)  The Friday afternoon drive home will be a NIGHTMARE.

At first it will be a little brutal, but you'll get used to it.

    Welcome to Atlanta!

  2. You don't have too many options...Besides the freeway, it appears that Hwy 41 will take you all the way to 17th St, then turn left...If the freeway gets knarley, I would definitely keep that one in mind...Take a look at Google Earth or MSN Maps and each will give you a good look at the route...I don't see how MARTA could do you much good, unless there is bus service...I lived in Alpharetta and worked in Sandy Springs and that was a pain more often than not.

    All the best.
