Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White sees offence diversifying play options - NFL News
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver, Roddy White, wants to see the Falcons offence get much better than last season and thinks that diversifying the options in offence will greatly help the franchise’s offence put up better numbers than last season.
The Falcons boast a talented offensive line up which includes players such as White, Julio Jones and many others, and White believes that spreading the ball around more will help the team reach the playoffs once again.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, White on the weekend said that.
“I know that sounds crazy, but we’ve got other guys out there that can play,”
Adding further he said.
“Julio (Jones) is going to be a big part of the offense this year. Harry (Douglas) is going to do wonders in the slot. We have to maximize our talent and get the ball in everyone’s hands.”
The wide receiver also said that new offensive coordinator, Dirk Koetter, is testing some new plays and tactics as he looks to get the Falcons offence to start producing at the level he believes they can.
Speaking about the team’s organised team activities (OTAs) White said.
“We switched some things up. We are doing the things [Koetter] likes to do. He’s a smart guy, and he knows what we do best.”
The Falcons had a good regular season in the 2011-12 season, however, they struggled massively against some of the more tougher team’s in the league.
They made it to the playoffs last year for the second consecutive season and the third time in four years under head coach, Mike Smith.
However, they once again like previous years bowed out of the playoff rounds at the first hurdle after being embarrassed 24-2 by the New York Giants in the wildcard game.
White though believes that this year the Falcons will be much better off and the offence will look to diversify its plays.
“There will be a lot of wide receivers out there, tight ends and things like that. We are going to try to get it in everybody’s hands.”
Fans will be hoping that this time the Falcons can once again make the playoffs and end their playoff chocking tendencies.
