Atlanta Falcons WR Roddy White slams NFLPA for CBA signed in July - NFL News
It did not take long for Atlanta Falcons wide receiver, Roddy White, to take to Twitter and speak about the bounty scandal appeals conducted by National Football League (NFL) commissioner, Roger Goodell.
Goodell had earlier suspended New Orleans Saints linebacker, Jonathan Vilma, defensive end, Will Smith and former Saints players, Anthony Hargrove and Scott Fujita.
All four players had filed appeals against the decision and arrived at NFL headquarters with their representatives for the hearing.
Many players took to Twitter to share their thoughts on the bounty scandal and complained the way Goodell was both judge, jury and executioner.
Former NFL executive and player agent, Andrew Brandt, also took to Twitter and said that those players complaining about the commissioner had agreed to sign the new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) last year and that allowed the commissioner to also
hear the appeals.
That tweet prompted Roddy White to also add his own two-cents to the argument.
White lashed out at the players union NFL Players Association (NFLPA) and blamed them for signing the CBA that left the players in their current situation.
“Don’t know why we complaining we did this to ourselves. I applaud roger godell [sic] for brokering a h**l of a deal and I blame nflpa for failing us.”
Adding further he said.
“Whoever is the head of the baseball union that’s who we need to hire they never have problems. … Ok they have had problems but not on the same issues that where [sic] problems before they signed a new cba as a union. the nflpa fixed none of our real problems.”
His last tweet stated,
“Sold us a great dream about how good the deal was I didn’t even want to sign that card because I knew the deal we signed was terrible.”
Well it is a little too late for White to complain about the CBA and he will have to wait 10 more years when negotiations on a new CBA will begin.
For now it doesn’t matter what the NFLPA negotiated with the league in 2011 and the wide receiver will just have to live with the issues.
