Atlanta Hawks focusing on boosting up their speed and agility (Part 2)
Larry has been learning and watching Johnson’s individual game to properly comprehend where and what position he is most comfortable scoring from and where it is that he scores most from.
By calculating this statistic, he will be able to increase the individual utility of a player but Larry can also learn where other players are most effective at. When each player is playing to his strength, the overall performance of the team is likely to
improve considerably.
The other benefit the Atlanta Hawks will derive out of this technique or strategy is that every player will trust one another to be around their own specific region and at the same time being aware of where each specific player is. It will definitely improve
overall effectiveness.
Larry’s experience with the L.A Lakers taught him many valuable training strategies and methods. One main thing that he is implementing on the Hawks is that, each session of training will come to its end only after players have spent a significant time practicing
on improving their conditioning. That will be their last stage of practice.
Drew has prepared a proper and tedious conditioning regime. His aim is to get the Atlanta Hawks in top condition and multiply their stamina by a large number. He is of the view that having a body that can endure physical stress for long hours is the key
to performance enhancing.
He has developed his own systems to increase the player’s physical capacity. He chooses random players. The purpose of these random players will be to run opposite each other as fast as they can and each set of players will have to execute a few passes to
each other and then shoot a three pointer.
The catch to it is that, each round a random person will be passed at the last and he must bring himself in a three point position as fast as possible and throw his shot without wasting anytime. Scoring the three pointer is absolutely essential as it will
combine being quick whilst improving accuracy. They are only allowed to make a single pass per person, changing their positions every round and making sure the player executes the three pointers is different every time.
They will repeat this process again and again numerous times. They are not supposed to skip any part of the process, they must maintain unity by using their individual strengths to create a play and finally they must execute flawless three pointers at the
end of every round.
This whole process must be done with a lot of pace hence, no sluggish running. Players must keep their individual pace as fast as they can, making sure all three of them are parallel to each other most of the time. The trick to it will be to keep up with
the fastest player out of the three players on the court.
Following this regime daily has really made the player feel stronger and more physically durable. Few players shared the affect of their experience indicating that their body felt more positive and stronger.
The best parts of Drew’s new tactics have been the level of agility the players felt once training had ended. Many players shared their views and discussed how the new system that they were following made them feel at the end of the day. Some said that focusing
on pure conditioning as the last part of training made them feel recouped and revitalized.
That is a clear indicator that their bodies had adjusted in such a manner that the Hawks could go on for longer and endure more stress on the body. Their increased endurance will no doubt help them lift their pace when it came to their half court attack.
They have become smoother when pacing up or down the basketball court with the ball. Automatically individual attacks will decrease and an overall team offense will rise. There will be more cross court play for Atlanta, which would be a direct result of
passing the ball to each other during training.
Overall, the Atlanta Hawks will be a quicker and smarter unit. They are scheduled to play the Memphis Tigers tonight, that is, the 7th of October, 2010. Drew and the players are expecting a much quicker game on their part. They are looking to
stagger Memphis with sheer teamwork and individual specialization.
If the Hawks can remember and implement their training, it looks like Memphis will have a difficult time against the quicker point guards and also defending against forwards that are likely to be positioned intelligently.
