Atlanta Hawks vs. Utah Jazz preview
The situation of Hawks and Jazz before the upcoming match is inversely propositional to each other as Jazz had won previous three matches and Hawks lost the previous three. Isn’t it interesting?
Wake up Hawks. You have a few hours to left before you take on Utah Jazz with a fabulous opportunity to make a great comeback.
With a fantastic three consecutive wins, Utah Jazz is in a full form to take on Atlanta Hawks on Friday, November 12, 2010 at Philips Arena, Atlanta. After watching, what the Utah Jazz has accomplished in their last three games against the Los Angeles Clippers,
Miami Heat and Orlando Magic, the lesson for future opponents should be very simple, do not take it easy.
The situation of both teams is quite interesting. Utah may be living on borrowed time in this contest after picking up three straight wins and heading into Friday night's game at Atlanta. While on the other hand, the Hawks will be looking to avoid a fourth
straight loss since opening 6-0.
Utah’s point guard Deron Williams nicknamed D-Will said, “It says we have a lot of fight in us, but we can’t keep relying on getting down and coming back, especially on the road”, “It happened to us two nights in a row, but considers us lucky”.
The Jazz seemed to be in a bed of roses, as they became the first team in the shot clock era to win three consecutive games after trailing by at least 10 points at the half.
The Jazz are 3-0 versus the Eastern Conference this season and hold a 47-39 all-time edge against the Hawks, including a 31-12 record at home and 16-27 mark on the road.
Star point guard Deron Williams, who is averaging 27.0 points and 11.7 assists during the comeback wins is still leading the Jazz, but the emergence of forward Paul Millsap has many experts talking. Millsap is averaging 23.9 points, 10.1 rebounds this season,
while shooting an incredible 61.4 percent from the floor.
The truth of three consecutive losses is really hard for Hawks to digest and therefore the team is still trying to figure out what happened in its 108-91 home loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night.
A nearly won match slipped out of their hands as they led by 13 points early, but then endured a 35-6 run by the Bucks reserves before halftime. Anyways, there is no benefit to cry over split milk.
The Hawks new motion offense that was installed by head coach Larry Drew has the team leading the league in field goal percentage at 49.8 percent shooting, while ranking 11th in scoring. Atlanta swept Utah last year, 2-0, in the season series for the first
time since the 1992-93 campaign, including a 96-83 win at the Philips Arena.
Hawks forward Marvin Williams is suffering due to a knee injury now days. His absence has not helped he did not play in four games. He practiced on Thursday and could return for this match. "I'm doing better," said Williams. "I'm not hobbling around too
much. It still hurts, but I am pretty excited. As long as nothing happens tonight, I will try to give it a go tomorrow depending on how it feels", said Marvin.
That is not exactly an ironclad guarantee, as the coach does not yet confirm his participation in the next match.
Both of the teams are done with their homework for the next match, both are equally confident, the only thing they are left with is that they have to better utilize their basketball tricks to win the day.
May the road always rise to meet both of the teams.
