An exciting match between the Atlanta Hawks and Washington Wizards is currently underway at the Philips Arena, Atlanta. Both of the teams entered the court full of energy to head the game, however by the end of the first half,
the home team were leading by 17 points (53 -36).
Prominent players of the First Half
Joe Johnson scored 21 points with 5 assists and 6 rebounds, while Josh Smith scored 20 points, 4 assists and 14 rebounds and Al Horford 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Atlanta Hawks.
Andray Blatche scored 12 points with a single assist and 4 rebounds for the Wizards. Gilbert Arenas and N. Young followed him with 11 points each. Josh Wall contributed 10 points, grabbing single rebound with 7 assists.
First Quarter Play
The Wizard’s Forward/Center, Andray Blatche scored the first two points of the game with a Jump Shot. Joe Johnson and Jamal Crawford scored 3-pointers for the Hawks in the first quarter. With 8:51 left, Johnson had a 3-pointer
Shot. With the clock running down Crawford had a 3 – pointer and overall he added 7 points to the final score at the end of the first quarter. At the Wizard’s end, Blatche led by 12 points.
The Hawks led the first quarter by ten points (28 – 18).
Second Quarter play
Josh Powell scored the first two points of the second quarter for the Hawks with a turnaround jump shot. Young also took advantage of a jump shot and scored the first two points of the second quarter for the Wizards. Gilbert Arenas
netted a 3-pointer for the Wizards with 05:00 remaining in the first half.
The Hawks were leading the first half, 53 – 36.

 Wizards Players on the Bench

Washington’s SF Josh Howard (knee injury) was cleared to participate in full-contact drills for the Wizards, but he remained invisible during the first half.
Forward Yi Jianlian continues to sit out with a bruised right knee.
Forward Al Thornton is yet not yet 100 percent, his sprained left ankle will keep him out for a couple of games yet.
Hawks Players on the Bench
Atlanta’s Sy still dealing with a back injury will be out at least until the end of November.
Hawks’ Forward-Center, Etan Thomas though uninjured did not get a chance to play.
