Question:

Atlanta venue for smaller wedding?

have a preliminary guest count of around 75 people. Just about every venue I've looked at in the Atlanta (& surrounding suburbs) has outrageous food/beverage minimums. The venue space itself works, but sometimes even the most expensive menu/beverage option won't meet the minimum required with our group size. I just can't bring myself to pay $200/person when I know we won't eat or drink anywhere near that much. Does anyone have any (non-outdoor?) suggestions?

  1. In Marietta Ga, which is about 20 minutes north of atlanta, there are a few little southern plantation style inns and houses that people use for weddings and receptions all the time. There is one in particular that I cant think the name of but its white and right off the square. You could also try the Bush house I think its called? Its around there too. Google Marietta Inns and you'll see what im talking about.

  2. Try country clubs. They may be able to work with you. Depending on the menu, you can probably get heavy hors doureves for about $20 a person. Count on beer and wine packages to start at $20 a person also.  If bar prices a concern, opt for a consumption bar package. Good luck!
