Atlantic Roller chasing maiden win in Thebishopjohn.co.uk "National Hunt" Novices´ Hurdle
Atlantic Roller has got a very good opportunity of brining up his maiden victory in the sport by claiming Thebishopjohn.co.uk "National Hunt" Novices´ Hurdle at Exeter in England on Tuesday, November 6, 2012. Things will not be easy for him though, as the
competition in the class-3 encounter is a tough one.
There are some other quality stallions lined up for action in the 2 mile, 5 furlong and 110 yard event, which is scheduled to start at 13:50 GMT. The going has been described as soft, as there has been plenty of rain at the venue over the past couple of
days. The organisers will be hoping that the weather remains good for the remainder of the day.
This means that all of the participants will have to be extremely careful during the race, as there are chances of sustaining an injury under these conditions. Due to this, some of the trainers might opt to withdraw their runners from the event, which has
a cash prize of £4,549 for the winner.
Although, all of the contestants are young and inexperienced, yet the competition amongst them is going to be an interesting one. The bookies believe that Gas Line Boy will walk away with a comfortable victory, as he possesses the potential of becoming one
of the best in the business.
It is too early to make judgements on the young runner, as he has a lot of things to prove in his career. He will definitely get the attention of the punters, as there is a chance for them to win some easy money over him.
The Philip Hobbs’ trainee has participated in just one race over hurdles in his career until now and the result was a positive one for him. He managed to finish at the top of the table by a comfortable margin of seven lengths.
However, he will have to face a stiff challenge from someone like Atlantic Roller, who likes running on a soft ground. He has proved to be competitive in his only two outings, but is yet to secure a victory for his team.
The Paul Nicholls’ trainee finished as a runner up on both the occasions he raced and he will be looking to turn the tables this time around under veteran jockey, Ruby Walsh.
