why are atlantic salmon on the endangered species list and why are their numbers decreasing? if u can i need three reasons

cause every1 likes eating the salmon, there is alotta pollution and there is an increase in predators

pollution is the main reason decades ago the debris dumped into the rivers made it impossible for the fish to survive let alone reproduce

silting up of the spawning beds from agricultural practises to cattle in the rivers for drinking

dams on the rivers play a small part

overfishing play a small part(you are only allowed 1 fish per licence per year)

There are two prime reasons that Atlantic Salmon numbers are decreasing. The first reason is that the majority of our rivers have dams built on them. Salmon travel upstream to the fresh water of rivers to breed. With all of the dams blocking entry to these breeding grounds, the salmon are unable to reproduce. There are some fish latters that have been built, a system that allows the salmon to get over the dam. There are not enough of these, however, to adequately impact the population. The second main reason is over fishing of salmon. Salmon are a very highly demanded fish as they are very healthy. More fish are caught each year and with the inability of salmon to breed due to damming, the populations cannot rebound.

I think it is caused by the human impact of contaminating the oceans in this world by producing too much green house gases, the used of bunker fuel, and dumping of used engine oil and sea vehicles accidence resulted many crude oil dumped into the ocean.
