  1. Nassau and Paradise Island are connected by a bridge which is located about 2 miles east of downtown.   There are also places of interest near the bridge as well, so walking across one day would be fun.

Getting from paradise island to Nassau is easy.  Taxi's run 24/7 from the lobby exits and cost $8 for 2 ppl to downtown Nassau, and about $12 to Cable Beach.  (taxi drivers should be getting a $1 surcharge raise sometime soon).

Ferries run from the nearby dock from 9am - 6 pm daily and cost $3pp. each way.  They run every 30 minutes - 7 days a week.

The local Jitney runs from downtown to the Bridge on Bay Street for $1 (bridge to downtown is a bit hard to find since you have to catch it on Shirley Street, which runs paralell to the main Bay Street about 2 blocks in. )  From downtonw, the #10 jitney will take you to Fort Charlotte, Ardastra Gardens (drop nearby), Arawak Cay, Breezes and Cable Beach resorts.  They run daily from 6am - 6:30pm.  every few minutes.  you can pick them up downtown on Bay Street or on George Street near the straw market.  they are clearly marked with the locations that they travel to and from.

Most activities and tours start at the wharf downtown.  This is where the ferry boats dock.. and a drop off point for cabs as well.   Travel is easy.. just relax and enjoy.

  2. There is a ferry across from Atlantis that will take you to Nassau - it's about $12 round trip.  You can also take a taxi for around $15 round trip.  There are also local buses, called jitney's - that will take you over to Nassau for about $1.

Nassau is just across the bridge from Atlantis on Paradise Island - but just a bit too far to walk.  There are alot of excursions that leave from Paradise Island, when you arrive, you should check with the concierge desk.

Have a great trip - the Atlantis resort is gorgeous!

  3. Have a great time!!  Atlantis is incredible.  I have been three times!!

Nassua is right over the bridge.  My husband and I walked over from Atlantis, but it was a quite a walk...   You could take a taxi or water taxi (ferry).  The taxi should not be too expensive, because the ride is only a few minutes.

    Have fun!!!

  4. Yes you can! The Transport system is awesome... You can ride a bus anywhere you want to in Nassau for like $1 or $2. I think they stop running at 7pm or 10pm on some nights.

My wife and I used that city transport a lot!
