My Fiance and I are looking at the Atlantis Resort to spend our honeymoon but I recently heard that the resort is very over crowded and we would be standing in lines all day and night even just to get a drink....does anyone either have suggestions or an experience there?

  1. It is an immense property, but amazing all the same.  Yes, you can stay at the Comfort Suites, but do you want to walk to the beach and all of the amenities of the resort during your honeymoon?  Spoil yourselves - this is your time.  If you are stuck to the Bahamas, but not the resort, try Sandals or if you really want to splurge.....The One & Only resort is a once in a lifetime experience too, but not so immense.  Their web site is http://www.oneandonlyresorts.com/flash.h...

  2. The Atlantis is amazing and a trip you will remember forever. When I lived in Florida I would go often since flights were so inexpensive from Ft Lauderdale. The summer is very busy, I would say more than any other time of the year. If you are planning on going the best time is probally september or february. I was just there this february and there were no lines for any of the slides and we had no trouble finding a place to sit at any of the pools or bars. Also if you do choose the Atlantis they just started the meal plan again. Make sure to get it. $65 per day per person. Without the plan the breakfast buffet is going to cost you $32 per person and dinner at the nicer restaurants is going to run $200-$300 per couple. Chicken fingers at the shark bar with a coke costs $21. You will save so much with the plan since you will not be paying for your food. The best restaraunt is probably the bahamian club and you will want to make your reservations early. Have a nice trip.

  3. Hope you have lots of $$$$. Try checking this out. It's absolutely fabulous, plus it's all-inclusive. http://www.sandals.com/main/bahamian/ba-...

  4. How bout that news dose travel fast the lines are very long & yup its really crowed my wife used to work there you'll have a good time but you'll have to put up with the crowds, enjoy

  5. of course it is crowded! the resort is very new. yes it is large and expensive, but well worth it! lots to see and do and the food is great! because it is large, you can avoid most of the crowds, unless you like crowds.

  6. its really crowded but i thought it wuz worth it.....

  7. It's a very large resort with many bars and restaurants. It's a fun place. You just need to do a little planning in advance and you will do fine. Like making reservations for dinner as far in advance that they allow. It does get crowded. There are over 3,000 rooms and suites.

If you are looking for a more romantic resort, check out Sandals in Nassau (Cable beach). If you really want to check out the Atlantis, get a day pass to the resort.

Good Luck and have fun on your honeymoon.)

  8. I've been there 2 times. It's a pretty crowded place, and kind of expensive, but the architecture, and the buildings are amazing, especially the dig. If you are thinking about staying there, I would stay at the Harborside Resorts if I were you. It is still a part of Atlantis, but a little quieter.  harborsideresort.com

  9. Its a beautiful place for a honeymoon.  You don't say what time of year you're going there.  Just like any vacation destination - there are times that are more crowded than others - spring break at Atlantis is probably the only time I would avoid.

Resort food is expensive.  We typically pack a suitcase full of food to bring with us.  Snack food mostly - bagels for breakfast, small jelly and honey packets, extra coffee, snack food, breakfast bars so if we're not real hungry we don't need to eat out.

We just got back yesterday - the weather was perfect, no crowds, no lines - just a beautiful resort with so much to discover  you'll never get tired.

  10. ITS AMAZING!

I was there this March for a family trip, and the only lines are for water slides. They arent long, either, and only for the most popular one. It goes through a shark tank, though, so the wait is worth it! :)

I am just a kid so we went to the beach and the waterpark a lot for me, also we did the Dolphin Cay thing where you can swim with the dolphins. We did the deep water swim and it is amazing, the dolphins are incredible and they give you a ride!

The beach was beautiful and the water is crystal clear, perfect for your honeymoon. Also you guys could get a tube with 2 seats and ride the lazy river together, and walk down to the shopping areas for dinner. Try Bimini Road, we went there and the seafood was pretty good. Their delicacy in the Bahamas is conk, so try that. =] Also they have a casino there for adults, so you could go there.

Don't let anyone talk you out of going because it is beautiful. One day when you have children you can return there so they can experience it, too.

Also the hotel staff is very friendly and welcoming along with the locals. Our room was great and so was our service. =]

Have an awesome honeymoon, no matter where you decide to go.

  11. I've only been there on a cruise stop over and the resort is huge! (yes they allow outsiders at the resort).  Not our style, and if you are thinking honeymoon you may want to think intimate resort style.  I would suggest something in the Out Islands of the Bahamas.  If you can make it happen I recommend Fiji as the ultimate honeymoon getaway.

  12. its amazing and so big that no matter how many people go there will still be room for more

just watch out for jellyfish they hurt like a m**********r

  13. It's large and expensive.  You can save money and still have access to the facilities at Atlantis by staying at Comfort Suites across the street.  But to see comments from past guests, you can go to TripAdvisor.com.
