Spanish club Atletico Madrid have told their goalkeeper David de Gea to sign a new contract with the club or he would be sold elsewhere.
At present, de Gea is under contract with Atletico for three more years who are keen to keep the player. However, Atletico Madrid CEO Miguel Angel Gil Marin has revealed that if the goalkeeper does not sign an extension, he would be out of the club in the

Marin said, “We have met with him to negotiate a new deal on two occasions, He has a contract with Atletico for three more seasons, so it is necessary to renew it and reasonable to revise his salary, which is well below his current performance.”

English Premier League club Manchester United have expressed interest in signing the talented goalkeeper as they are preparing a 17.8-million-pound offer for him.
The Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson is viewing de Gea as a replacement for Edwin van der Sar. The 40-year-old Dutchman has already stated that he will retire from competitive football at the end of the current 2010-11 campaign.
De Gea has been in eye-catching form for Atletico in the season. So far, the 20-year-old has 12 clean sheets to his name from 39 appearances for his club.
