Atletico Madrid would be a great opportunity for my career says FC Porto star Radamel Falcao
FC Porto’s star striker, Radamel Falcao, has hinted that he might be on his way to Atletico Madrid, after claiming that the club could be an ideal opportunity to further his already blossoming career.
The Colombian International has become one of the hottest properties in Europe following a scintillating season with Porto and is rumoured to be on the radar of several big clubs.
Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester City have already expressed their interest in signing the 25-year-old but all of them have backed off as the Portistas secured the services of their prized asset for five more years and raised his buyout clause to €45
million.
While the race to sign Falcao was seemingly over, Spanish side Atletico Madrid popped in with a bid to secure the services of the highly-rated forward. Although their initial offer was rejected by Porto, the Madrid outfit have been persistent in their efforts
to sign the former River Plate man.
And it now looks as if the constant pursuit of Los Colchoneros has finally paid off. The Coffee Growers International has himself expressed his interest in signing for the club.
Speaking to reporters after Porto’s win against Vitoria Guimarães, Falcao said that it was every footballer’s dream of playing in either the Spanish, English or Italian league, and being a professional player, he also cherished the same desire.
“Every player aspires to play in the major leagues, like the Spanish, Italian or English ones. If they say any different they are lying.” Falcao revealed his ambitions.
The attacker further went to say that Atletico were a side with a huge fan base in La Liga and could potentially help him reach the next level in his career.
“Atletico Madrid have great supporters and it would be a great opportunity for my career,” the Colombian concluded.
