Disgruntled Atletico Madrid winger Jose Antonio Reyes agrees personal terms with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sevilla-FC-c40484 with only the financial negotiations between the clubs remaining.
Despite the best intentions of the new Los Rojiblancos manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 Pablo Simeone, the winger has confirmed his transfer to La Liga rivals Sevilla.
Simeone had stated earlier that he wants the experienced winger to stay at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vicente-c36001 Calderon, commenting that Reyes is an important player in the dressing room.
The Atletico coach indicated that he appreciates the footballing values of Utrera-born attacker, but only wants players in the squad who are willing to give a hundred percent to compete for places in the starting eleven.
"I am willing to recover the spirit of Reyes. Any player who plays at Atletico knows the requirements and commitment to the team," Simeone stated.
Reyes had himself stated that he would talk to Simeone before making a decision on his future.
"I will speak with him, I will clarify things and after training will make a decision. The future is not decided yet. I have wanted to play, wherever," Reyes had said.
However, it looks likely that Simeone has failed to make the creative winger change his mind, as Reyes has agreed to personal terms with Sevilla. It has been reported that the matter has been resolved verbally and nothing has been put in writing.
The Spanish international is in Madrid at the moment, participating in a friendly http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Charity-c38784 match. Reyes has been disgruntled under the leadership of Gregorio Manzano, with the player and coach failing to see each other eye-to-eye.
Sevilla have outlined a deal for Reyes who is expected to sign a four-and-a-half-year contract. The 28-year old player will swap Vicente Calderon with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ramon-c30533 Sanchez Pizjuan in the ensuing winter transfer window.
The Seville-based club have had an impressive first half to the 2011/12 season. Los Nervionenses are sixth in La Liga rankings, after accumulating 24 points from their 16 La Liga fixtures.
On the other hand, Atletico Madrid have been woeful in their league outings. The Capital club are 13th in the Primera Division table and have failed to put a decent run of form together.
