The Atleti goalkeeper and Malaga starlet have both been shortlisted as contenders to bag the European Golden Boy accolade.
The prestigious award was created back in 2003 by the Italian publication Tuttosport, and it is a gauge that recognises the best under-21 football prodigy that is currently playing in the whole of Europe.
The criteria involve voting from thirty different reporters from several publications across Europe.
The voting is believed to be carried out in twenty different countries and all the top publications of the nations are accountable to vote for whom they think has had the best season at the top level of football, being under the tender age of 21.
It is reported that after the survey of voting was carried out, 3 players notably were ahead of all others. The list of the 3 contained Atletico Madrid’s shot stopper Thibaut Courtois, who is on loan from Chelsea, Malaga’s talented boy Isco and Milan’s flamboyant
striker Stephen El Shaarawy.

Isco who is dubbed as the faster version of Cesc Fabregas had a more than decent season with Spanish side Malaga and his contributions earned him a lot of repute throughout Europe. Such were his exploits that a number of top clubs across Europe came out

Moving to Milan, Shaarawy had a great season as he tried to salvage anything for the Milanese outfit. Milan failed to capture any silverware but the youngster’s performances stood out and his contributions were vital, often setting the tone for the San Siro
