Well I just recently found out that the Halo SAS/KHE Geisha wheel is impossible to get in America so now I'm left to build a custom wheel of my own... So far I plan to use a Profile Disc-ready hub 36h w/ either Mawri or DT Swiss spokes... question is...Pimp or SAS???

  1. What kind of riding are you doing?  They're both awesome rims but the Pimp is a little more durable for sharp-edged hits like in a rock garden, etc.  SAS is killer, though....an ounce or two heavier, also.   You could buy the 36H SAS rim, or you might just really like the Spin Doctor hubs that come stock on the rear SAS wheel (it's 48h only, however).   I have them and they've been through a LOT of abuse with big drops to flat and stoppies, 180's, and rain.  Still going strong and smooth.   The Profile hub is great if you don't mind the extra $$ for the name.   Honestly, you could build up either rim and be fine.  Check out the Spank and Transition rims, too.

Most of the brit products are kinda spotty in US distributor supplies, but Halo is usually available.  DMR and Funn stuff is like pulling teeth sometimes, though.   http://www.ride-this.com usually has stuff in stock, and most any bike shop can order it from http://www.bti-usa.com .

If you wait a little bit and if you like purple, the SAS is going to be available in "purple haze" anodizing soon.   lol

Hope that helps....bomb it dude.   :o)
