I just purchased a pair of Atomic T30 skis. How are these for a skier that is moving from beginer to intermediate? I am new to skiing and I am at the mercy of salespeople while shopping. Thanks ahead of time for the help!

  1. atomic is always a good ski.  i have demoed many skis and atomics have always impressed me with whatever type of skier you are.  you will not be upset.

  2. Since you are fairly new to the sport, you should demo different pairs to see how they ski.  Depending on your size and skill level, any "intermediate " ski will be better than the rental equipment that is in a shop.  Learn how to tune your own skiis, also wax them frequently.  Go to a goodwill store and buy a pair of used skiis to practice sharpening the edges and hotwaxing skiis. Reseach base and side bevels for skiis, hotwax with canning paraffin, that is fine for recreational skiers. When you wax the skiis, scrape the excess wax off, save it to wax them again.  This is for practice, also at Goodwill, buy an old electric iron, to use just for waxing.

How you tune your skiis will change how they perform.
