  1. It means you can't have something like N1.3 or N1.2F4.2, or N(5/2) or N5/2F1/3. No compounds with decimals or fractions as the subscript can exist. It has to be whole numbers like N2F2 or N2 or C26H52 but fractions and decimals are not acceptable!
