Atrocious test-taking skills?

I am in dire need of some help. Any kind of help. I'm a student at a university and I'm not doing too well. Actually, I'm doing horrible. I have failed almost every test while in the university. I have asked for help here and there but it seems that nothing much has changed.

I'm a pretty serious student most of the time. I go to all my classes, I turn in my assignments in on time. I get around 90-100 on all my assignments. But the problems are the huge exams which are 35-50% of my grade. I choke like no other. I get terrible anxiety day before the exam. It's just beyond what I can handle right now.

The worst part is that I completely forget what I have learned in class. Completely forget even the simplest things. There were times when the exam problems and the assignemnts were exactly the same....and I would forget.

I do terrible on my exams. I'm usually the worst in my class, I get 10/100, 7/100 on my exams. THey are the same as the assignments.

I want to improve, but how

  1. create a test like environment where u live and take the test timed. or just ask fo help from ur professors

  2. It sounds to me like you have test anxiety, and there are ways to combat that.

Make part of your studying testlike. Take a few questions, set yourself up in a test atmosphere, and answer them within a given amount of time.

Additionally, there are places like Princeton Review and Kaplan that can help you with test strategy. In the meantime, I hope this will help!
