** I know this is kinda long but PLEASE HELP***

I bought Windows Vista Ultimate sp1 UPGRADE on ebay about 2 weeks ago.

It is is in a brand new package, the case it originally came with.. genuine cds and there not ONE sign of anything PIRATED about it at all. It activates and all that.

Now, me and my mother have had a few issues where immediatley upon installing this software we get a virus or really bad issues like freexing screens and all that.

Our computers are top notch and are ready for vista ultimate. Ive never had this problem with any vista version.

~~~~~~~MY QUESTION~~~~~~~~~~`
is it possible something is wrong with the version on this disc? even though its genuine and all that is it possible it could be tampered with from the seller?
Thank you so very much. I will rate the answers.
  1. I have heard from many people that they are having problems with Vista Ultimate, and they have tried Vista Home, and it turns out fine.  I have also heard that Ultimate is garbage, and that one must also need to upgrade to Service Pack 1 to get the best experience.  Last, I've heard bad things about Vista all around.  You're much better off going with Windows XP and installing Service Pack 3. I don't tell you this as an opinion, but from my friend who owns a PC and Vista Service Pack 1.  I for one will never go back to PC Windows.  I'm an Apple fan boy myself.
  2. Check to make sure you have correct drivers and if that does not help i would suggest calling Microsoft. They will help you figure out the problem and if the software is legit. If it is not legit file a claim on ebay.com. http://www.mymediatutorials.com/
  3. The fact that the discs 'looked' real does not guarantee that they are. Foreign made copies are very accurate.
    What kind of feedback does this person have?
    Can you format and reload it? If it starts again I think you have your answer if these are pirated.
    Sorry to hear about your bad exp with ultimate.
  4. Sounds like you should evaluate the software you just installed more carefully.  Vista isn't bad (despite its many flaws), but if the problem occurred after installation, you could reformat, try again, and this time avoid installing that program.  I wouldn't blame it on Vista just yet.
