Question:

Att land line problem - no dial tone, callers get busy signal, dsl works?

I had my telephone number and a few of the telephone features on my ATT land line changed a few days ago & on the same day that the changes took place my phone line went dead & all incoming calls now receive a busy signal. DSL still works but seems to be slower and cuts out more than usual. ATT detects that there is a problem, stating that it looks like the telephone was not hung up and is now stuck off hook. I'm sure I hung it up. They will have to send someone out to check the problem. I don't have linebacker service so I would have to pay if the problem is on my end. I can't check the main access box because I live in a large condo building and the main box is a mess of wires in a large utility room.

I picked up the telephone receiver yesterday to check the line and there was a dial tone and I could make a call to my mobile. But when I hung up, the line didn't hang up and now no dial tone, again.

Could the change of # or features have triggered this? Any suggestions? THANKS

  1. yes i could of, just call att support, it might take awhile to explain everything to them, but i guess their support is pretty decent....they will have someone come out and fix it.
