Attaching 26 " lcd to stud wall

Question

I have attempted to locate the wooden beams in my stud wall. they measure approx 12 inches apart. I wish to attach a bracket for my 26 lcd television...would it be secure enough and what bracket would you recommend if I wanted tilt and swivel. thanks
