Question:

Attaching plaque to stone?

We got the ok to place a plaque on a mountain top in honor of my lil brother. I need some help about how to accomplish this.

We thought we were going to engrave into some granite that we have and is small enough to bring up the mtn easily, but now am wondering about options since this stone is not big enough for a quote from Chris (my brother:)

Since we are putting a quote that has roughly 20 words, what do you think our best option would be? Have a plaque created and bring that up the mountain to attach to a rock (already have one picked out) that exists in the location? I thought about chiseling into the rock on the mountain top and epoxy'in the plaque into it. Any thoughts on this?? Any ideas you could share?? Thank you so much!

  1. If this is a posthumous honor, I am very sorry for your loss.  If it were me, I would have a beautiful bronze plaque made.  Since this is a remote location, I would opt out of any kind of mechanical attachment that requires power tools.  Try Liquid Nails.  There are literally dozens of formulations, and the hardware store can help you choose one.  Alternatively, you might use a headstone service to make the plaque for you, then ask their advice about how they attach bronze to stone, which they do all the time.

    Again, I'm very sorry.
