  1. No.  Attempted murder charges can be brought on to anybody who attacks, no matter the area of the body,

and you can be charged if only using your hands!

It's the Intent, method and motive.   If someone's capable of losing their life after you've attacked them, that's attempted murder.

Especially if the attack wasn't just an assault, but a brutal one, with knowledge the person could die, or the D.A. proving you had motive to.

Teens are being charged everyday with this crime, now.

  2. If you attack below the waist with a weapon.. no, that is not true. You can do severe arterial damage below the waist. If you're just punching/kicking somebody only in the legs, chances are they're gonna beat the c**p out of you.. But with no weapon involved, it's probably not attempted murder, it's just stupid lol.

  3. you have wrong info, the d.a. can charge anyone with what they deem plausible-even if we think it's laughable

  4. Um... basically. It has to do with major or vital organs. If you were to kill or nearly kill someone by injuring them below the waist ... say, by accidentally severing an artery ... then it would in most cases be considered unattempted murder, simply because anyone 'attempting' to kill another human being with even the slightest idea of how the body functions (eg. humans need a working heart, brain etc. to survive.) would not aim below the waist.

  6. False. If you go for the femoral artery, that is a pretty obvious attempt.
