Attempted email account hack help!!!!?

Question

Hi today I logged into my Gmail account to find my inbox emptied except for one message, which the hacker had sent to myself. (not sent from a different email address but from mines; you know, when you send an email to yourself.) I won't quote was the message said (it was somewhat offensive) the subject of the message was 'hacked' and the person just packed the email with some offensive words etc. I changed my password but I was wondering is it possible to find out where this person accessed my account? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

Hi,

I had a similar problem.

Someone got into my email (yahoo) , deleted my mails and re set my preferences. He/she also sent  mails to everyone on my contact list advertising a product.

If you find how to track him down please let me know.

I have Norton 360 but it does not seem to be able to find the virus/key logger /malware ...whatever that facilitated this .

You need to give ALL this info to Google. They really really hate hackers.

Give them the email, and everything you have.  They will go after him.
