Attending event called "1st annual little black dress event"? Tips wht to wear?

I am going at a college event at a restaurant called "1st annual little black dress event." I crossdress and am going out with a friend who helps out. Having never worn a little black dress, I am not even sure where to go to get one. What to wear, what type of shoes match etc.

If a dress is passed the knees, is that also considered a little black dress? Pantyhose or no pantyhose, open toe or close toe heels?

well a LBD is a black dress that is normally just above the knee or just below the knee.

Generally a little black dress should be sophisticated, so either passed the knees or just above.

It depends on how brave you are feeling and how good your legs are as to tights. But never ever wear open toe shoes with tights, its not a good look to see your toes covered in tights!

Typically a little black dress (lbd) is either at or above your knees and are sleeveless.  I would definitely wear pantyhose with the dress, probably a nude color.  If you have a pair of slingbacks or some black pumps that would look great!!  Per the August issue of InStyle Magazine it is now considered fashionable to wear pantyhose or tights with strappy shoes, so that adds yet another option for you.  You may want to bring something to cover your shoulders too just in case it is cold when you are leaving or if part of the party at the restaurant is on an outdoor patio.  Have a great time!!!

Wear a 2 1/2 inch open toe & back sandal. No pantyhose.
