i was just wondering.

what do you believe the point of homework is?

i don't understand.

i get home from school, go to work, and still have piles of homework and tests to study for.

though i understand homework has been given for CENTURIES, my question is...why do you give it still?

it just makes my life more stressful as it is, to have to worry about school, WHILE i'm home.

  1. I give out homework because it gives my students the opportunity to practice and review what I'm teaching them in my class.  It also gives the parents/guardians the opportunity to see what their child is learning in my class.  Homework is also a guidance to the exams I give out in my class too.

  2. Homework is a form or revision, in which you do to help you remember things you learnt in school; to make sure you know what you are doing still.

Homework refreshes your memory on things, but in most cases; pointless homework is given, as it's is the teacher's job to give homework, and so they do (even if it is pointless).

  3. Homework allows you to practice the concept that you just learned.  It also helps your teachers determine whether or not you have mastered the concept.  This is necessary in order to plan future lessons :-) .
