Attention-seeking Baltimore Ravens’ Joe Flacco rates himself best QB of league-NFL News
Not surprisingly, Baltimore Ravens’ quarterback, Joe Flacco, who is quite successful and known for attention-seeking through his outbursts in the team, has rated himself to be the ‘best’ QB in the entire National Football League (NFL).
It is to be mindful of the fact that he is not alone in his lately released self-ratings, his agent, Joe Linta, has also endorsed the player’s ranking saying that Flacco is amongst the top five QBs.
Flacco said:
"I assume everybody thinks they're a top-five quarterback. I mean, I think I'm the best. I don't think I'm top five, I think I'm the best. I don't think I'd be very successful at my job if I didn't feel that way. I mean, c'mon? That's not really too tough
of a question.”
He added:
"That doesn't mean that things are going to work out that way. It just means that's the way it is - that's the way I feel that it is and that's the way I feel it should be."
Even thought the latest statement from Flacco has not drawn any interest from any notable member of the league, this comes out to be another angle of the player’s self-generated and self-focused talk.
He had remained vocal about the so called ignorance of his talent and contribution by the management in the victories of the team. It was due to the fact that Ravens had predominance of defence in their performance throughout.
Even then he had failed to attract much talk around the issue and the situation calmed down with a couple of remarks and clarifications here and there.
Some game analysts, however, believe this time around the player might have had a point to make when he claims himself to be the best.
It is not that how he has performed so far, but whether he has the potential to be the best or to be in the ranks of few top QBs i.e. Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.
It is pertinent to note here that Baltimore Raven’s new quarterbacks’ coach, Jim Caldwell, has posed faith into Flacco’s ability and talent.
Caldwell’s words can be considered to be credible because the former Indianapolis Colts’ coach has trained and groomed more than one best QB in the league. Most recently, he has been credited for grooming Peyton Manning, the only four-time Most Valuable
Player (MVP) of the league.
The coach, soon after joining Ravens, said that he had plans for Flacco different from those he had for Peyton Manning.
He added that all QBs have distinct talent and set of game skills and he will be targeting Ravens’ QB with a different approach.
So, the words of endorsement from Caldwell leave it open for Flacco to be the best or in the top bests QBs on the league in the future.
